Glass Marbles

  • Packaged in bags of 100 +/- these can be used to eliminate air space in glass bottles to extend the life of developers.

Glass Amber Bottles with Caps

  • Two things ruin developer - heat and air! Most developers (including ours) are packaged in plastic bottles to save the shipping costs. 
  • A partially filled bottle - even in glass will oxidize, shortening the life of any developer.
  • Extend the life of all developers by transferring them into glass amber bottles and eliminate the dead air space by adding marbles to the bottles. This will extend the life of the developer from 1 to 5 years!
  • Use the same storage process for the developer working solutions.
  • Ultimately save money and gain better uniformity from the developers.
  • Store all developers in cool, dark places.
  • Fixers do not need to be stored in glass.

Instructions

Transfer any black & white developer, stock solution or concentrate, into a glass bottle of the appropriate size to accommodate the volume of the developer. Add marbles as needed to eliminate air space.

Plastic (HDPE) Bottles with Caps

Ideal for short term chemical storage. Plastic (HDPE) are available in the following sizes:

  •  For Developers, if you find you have a partial bottle, BEFORE replacing the cap, squeeze the bottle to remove as much air as possible. This will help to prevent oxidation due to head space in the bottle.
